Birds of Bosque Del Apache    November 29 - December 3,2010
Bosque Del Apache National wildlife refuge
New Mexico

Thousands of sandhill cranes, snow geese and a wide variety of other birds descend in the winter months on the Bosque del Apache National Wildlife Refuge. Sunrise finds the sandhill cranes roosting in the shallow water of flooded fields and taking flight in large groups. At sunrise tens of thousands of arctic snow geese take off for their day time feeding areas creating one of natures' most spectacular displays. Northern harrier patrol the fields in search of food while kestrals, eagles and other raptors soar through the sky.

Come find yourself amidst this amazing display of birds.

We will meet in Socorro, NM on November 28 and plan to leave the morning of December 4, 2010. Each morning we will arrive at the refuge before dawn to photograph the birds as they take-off
